Japanese language seem to have the impression that it is difficult.
But, in fact, Japanese is simple.

At first, unless the hard way, a high regularity.
Japanese has a rich redundancy. So, you may not have to worry about the mistake.
Singular and plural forms nor feminine and masculine also.
It is easier than the language of Latin and Germanic.

Difficult factor will be that there is a lot of character.
Hiragana, Katakana, reading aloud of Chinese characters, the Chinese characters Kundoku

Hiragana and Katakana represents the reading. So, in fact, it can be use either.
Few people trying to Romanization ,and stop the hiragana and katakana.
However, it would have been difficult to read.

This format has been used in Vietnam. They abolish use of Chinese characters.
They wrote a Vietnamese using the alphabet.
So, they can not to read kanji.
It is said that Japanese can read a tourist such as the text of the stone monument.

In Japan, before WW2 had been used katakana mainly. After that, Hiragana is used.
At present, katakana often are denoted foreign words.

KANJI Ondoku or Kundoku

Ondoku (aloud) is pronunciation of Chinese.
Kundoku is Japanese-specific pronunciation.

Word(noun) is mainly written in Chinese characters KANJI.
When continuous Chinese characters two or more characters (Kanji compound), this is often a word of ancient China.
So, we read Ondoku (aloud).

漢字 kanji
連続 renzoku
単語 tango

If the first character is of aloud,  also the next character is aloud.
However, sometimes, there is also a aloud + Kundoku.

Whatever, these are a noun, So, it should cause to memory.

Other hand, the verb is often use Kundoku.
At this time, One Kanji character + Hiragana
起きる　o + kiru (Ondoku "ki")
眠る nemu + ru (Ondoku "min")

If pronunciation Ondoku for kundoku , it is not a mistake , because it is originally Chinese.

"Oh, It is better to learn Chinese."

But, It was sorry .
This Japanese Ondoku is how to read the Tang era.
Pronunciation of modern Chinese are different.
This is,Japanese is not the bad. Chinese has changed.


日本語は難しいという印象があるようだ。
しかし、実は日本語は簡単である。

ひとつは、難しい言い廻しをしない限り、規則性である。
ふたつめは、日本語は冗長性が豊かなので、間違いはあまり気にしなくていい。
単数形も複数形も女性名詞も男性名詞もないので難しくない。
ラテン系やゲルマン系の言語よりよほど簡単です。

難しいと言われる原因は、ひらがな、カタカナ、漢字の音読みと、漢字の訓読み。

ひらがな、カタカナは読みを表しているので、じつはどちらでもいい。
平仮名やカタカナを止めてローマ字表記にしようという時期もあった。
ただし、そうとう読みにくくなっただろうね。

この形式はベトナムで用いられている。
アルファベットを使ってベトナム語を書いている。
彼らは漢字が読めなくなったため、石碑の文章など日本人のほうが読めると言われている。

第２次大戦前はカタカナだった、それ以降は平仮名になった。

現在では、カタカナは外国語を読みで表していることが多い。

単語（名詞）は主に漢字で書く。

このとき、漢字が２文字以上連続していれば、これは中国語由来の単語であることが多い。
だから音読みのことが多い。

漢字 kanji
連続 renzoku
単語 tango

最初の文字が音読なら次の文字も音読である。
しかし、ときどき、音読＋訓読　ということもある。

いずれにせよ、これらは名詞なので覚えてしまうより仕方がない。

一方、動詞は訓読みのことが多い。
漢字一文字＋ひらがな

起きる　o + kiru
眠る nemu + ru

例え訓読みになっていたとしても元は中国語だから音読で発音しても間違いではない。

「おお、ならば全て中国語を習えば良い！」
と考えた方は、残念でした。

この音読み、日本での読みは唐時代の読み方で、現代の中国語とは発音が異なる。これは、日本のせいではない。
